Gypsy Picnic!

If you've been to France and bought bread at Chez Paul, you know what a treat it was, to pull off the autoroute to get gas and a snack and find a roadside Chez Paul snack bar! This turned out to be more of a "Gypsy Picnic" than a gas station pack of chips and bottle of water. It just so happens, it was the first time in three months we drank coffee out of a paper cup!  Marc had visions of Peet's dancing in his head. Accompanied by a rhubarb tarte, a strong double espresso and a little birdie to entertain, all that we missed was a few extra minutes for a nap in the car!  Off to St. Remy to find an empty store for rent...
more news to come!

Veterans Day Memorial in Venasque

Gathered at the city hall, we followed the school children to the memorial in honor of the "glorious dead" from World War I 1914-1918.  The Mayor presented a diploma to one of the six survivors of WWII, left in the Vaucluse department of Provence. The children sang "The Marseillaise" to him and we processed around the statue and back to the city hall for "Un Pot"...a drink and snack, offered by the city hall.

To all the veteran's around the world,
who sacrificed their live for the cause of
Liberte, Egalite et Fraternite...Freedom,   Liberty and Justice for all!

Sunlight hitting the cliff in Venasque!

I walked under this rock, took the picture and heard a big noise.  Marc was sitting in the car. He heard it too and saw something fall. It was a big piece of the rock that had fallen from under the outcropping of the rock, where I had just walked.  I guess it was my lucky day by about a minute, to not have a stone fall on my head.
Moral of the story:
FALLING ROCK SIGNS DON'T LIE!

LOVELY SKY FROM UNDER THE STONE!
